  • This book was the fourth written by C.S. Lewis in consecutive years but is now listed as the sixth in the chronological timeline. Following the release of The Silver Chair, Lewis went back in the timeline to expand on Narnia’s origins in The Magician’s Nephew and then the companion story The Horse and His Boy set during the later stages of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
  • The Silver Chair is the first book in the series that focuses on someone other than one of the Pevensie siblings. A feature he would repeat in his next two books.
  • There were initial plans to turn Lewis’ fourth book into a feature film, but faltered when Walden Books let the rights expire. In 2018 Netflix purchased the rights to the franchise.
  • Charts: The seven-book The Chronicles of Narnia set has sold more than 120 million copies worldwide.
  • Reviews: The Silver Chair has a 3.95 rating (out of 5) on Goodreads. In fact, the entire Chronicles of Narnia series holds a consistent 4.03 average score on the popular book rating site.
