Their conflict led to what would be known as the ‘Dance of the Dragons’ as the two sides of the family struggled for control of King’s Landing and Westeros. Despite the family’s colorful and turbulent history, this marks the first Targaryen civil war.
- The story was later expanded upon and included in Fire & Blood. It is a prominent storyline in HBO’s House of the Dragon – Season 1 and is the title of the sixth episode.
