- Originally set as a trilogy, in 2016 Warner Brothers announced the series would be expanded into five films. However, due to the harsh criticism of the second film the studio said the future of the series would be determined by the reception of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. However, in November 2022 Warner Bros. stated the series was on hold.
- Reviews: The film drew mixed reviews, improved from The Crimes of Grindelwald but unable to capture the magic of the first film. Rotten Tomatoes’ average rating from critics was 46% but connected with audiences far more at 83%.
- Charts: Secrets of Dumbledore opened #1 in the US, maintaining the top spot for two weekends. Earning $95 million in the US and $407 million worldwide were the lowest returns of the series.
